I remember the big promises of how we can be assured of staying warm because of the huge amount of natural gas resources America now has access to right under our feet. The Marcellus Shale project has resulted in paying for gas rights to property owners, and has resulted in drilling going on across many states. A relative of mine reported to me how she got money back on her gas bill one month due to the abundance and lowered prices. Then the prices went up. This is when we switched to IGS energy in Ohio.
The big natural gas projects were not being fulfilled to the degree everyone was expecting when the price of oil dropped drastically. Some people think it was a conspiracy of the oil-producing nations to use our market-driven forces to cripple the growing natural gas extraction industry. I am not sure about that. Continue reading
Some guy knocked on my door telling me all the money I could save if I switched to the electricity company he was selling. I have heard it all before. So much that I looked into it for myself when I went to visit site online that had the details. When you talk to those people knocking on your door who want you to switch right there, you can miss the details in the fine print. Can you save money on your electric bill by switching? Yes. However, you need to be with the right company.
You need to first look at your usage. Some companies have a minimum amount of kilowatt hours you must use each month or pay more on your bill. Some contracts with power companies are fixed rate, and some are variable rate. The variable rate can suddenly change. It is better, in my opinion, to go with a low fixed rate per kilowatt hour. I have some trees in my yard that look like they’re close to 100 feet tall, and although they have probably been on this property a lot longer than I have, it kind of worries me to have such tall trees around, as they could eventually fall down and cause a lot of damage. I want to hire a company for tree service in Asheville NC to cut down some of the trees in my yard, and in particular, I would like to get rid of some of the trees that are close to my house, as those are the ones that bother me the most and are the ones posing the most potential risk to my property.
I am not sure how much it is going to cost to get them cut down on a per tree basis, but after talking to some of my neighbors, I am pretty sure it is not going to be that cheap. But still, it is in the best interest of my family to have these trees removed and so I am pretty sure that is what I am going to do, even if it is kind of expensive to make it happen.
I want to work on getting the trees cut down closest to my house first and see how much that will cost. Actually there are a few trees that kind of look like they are starting to die near my house, and those are at the very top of my list of concerns. I do not want dead trees falling on my house. We had a winter storm knock over a lot of trees in this area about 15 years ago, and I do not want to live through another storm like that and the potential damage that it could bring to my house and my family.
